Consultation has concluded

The 7th Line between Yonge Street and the 10th Sideroad is partially closed due to unsafe road conditions. Local traffic is permitted travelling one way only from east to west (Yonge Street to 10th Sideroad). This partial closure and one way driving restriction will remain in effect until the completion of the environmental assessment and road reconstruction. Whenever possible please use an alternate route.

We're committed to getting you from point A to point B as quickly and safely as possible - to do so the has Town commenced an Environmental Assessment Study for the 7th line from Yonge Street to the 10th Sideroad.

The Environmental Assessment Report is complete and currently up for a 30-day review period starting October 10, 2019 and ending November 11, 2019 in accordance with the requirements of the MCEA process.

The Study followed Schedule C of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process described in the Municipal Engineers Association guide (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, & 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The Study evaluated alternative solutions with consideration for the natural, cultural, technical and economic environment and included consultation with the public, stakeholders, Indigenous communities and agencies. A Notice of Study Commencement inviting public input was published on August 9 and 16, 2018. Two Public Open Houses (POH) were held on November 27, 2018 and April 8, 2019.

If concerns arise regarding this Study which cannot be resolved through discussion with the Town, the person or party with the concern may submit a written request to the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to make an order for the Study to comply with Part II of the Environmental Assessment Act (referred to as a Part II Order), which addresses Individual Environmental Assessments. Part II Order Requests must be submitted using a standard form available on the Provincial Forms Repository website (http://www.forms.ssb.gov.on.ca/). The form can be found by searching either “Part II Order” or “012‑2206E” (the form ID number) on the Repository’s main page. The completed form for Part II Order Request must be received by the Minister (addresses are provided on the bottom of the form) by 4:30 p.m. on November 11, 2019. A copy of the completed form for Part II Order Request should also be sent the Director, Environmental Approvals Branch and to the Town of Innisfil Project Team by this time and date. If no request is received by November 11, 2019, the Town intends to proceed with detailed design and construction as outline in the ESR subject to Provincial agency approval and Municipal priorities and budgets.
