The Association of Municipalities of Ontario reported an average voter turnout of 36.30% in the 2022 municipal elections (based on 385 municipalities). This was the lowest turnout at the municipal level since 1982.
In Innisfil, voter turnout was only 24% in the 2022 municipal election.

The EEAC used this information to develop a Communication and Engagement Strategy for the next Municipal Election on October 26, 2026 to improve future voter and candidate participation.
